Willa’s Nursery

March 24, 2018

A peek inside our sweet little girl’s room.

It took quite a while to get together, but we finally finished Willa’s nursery! I’ve never been a big fan of bright, girly things – so when designing this space I tried to be very mindful of keeping it feeling feminine without the hot pink explosion. Instead I focused on muted blush and cream tones with the occasional pop of playful color. I’m also not big on nursery themes per se, but with us being such animal lovers we definitely added a sweet woodland creature element.

My favorite piece in the room is the rug. The gorgeous blush shade and unique design really brings the nursery together and feels feminine without being overly pink and frilly. Both the pom wall hanging and the rug are from a company that I adore, Lorena Canals. Not only are their rugs beautifully designed and practical (you can wash them at home!!), but the company also has an important social mission which has touched my heart. I love them so much I wrote all about the company and mission in another blog post here – I also included of my other top nursery decor picks, so be sure to check it out!

As a kid, I always LOVED stuffed animals. I hope the animal-lover trait has been passed along to Willa :) Her little toy basket has two very special handmade toys inside – the fox, stitched by my best friend Rachel and her mother, and the bear, made with love by one of my parents’ patients back home. Rachel’s mother also hand-stitched the beautiful quilt in Willa’s crib. I pray she treasures these incredible gifts for a long time – I know I will.
